What is gum grafting?

Gum grafting is an option for covering areas where the gum has receded away from the tooth. It's a surgical procedure where a small amount of tissue is taken from a donor site, usually the roof of the mouth, and moved to the area with recession, aiming to cover as much of the exposed area as possible so it blends naturally with surrounding tissue.

What is crown lengthening?

Crown lengthening, sometimes referred to as periodontal plastic surgery, involves reshaping some of the gum tissue. Where gums at the front are particularly puffy, a procedure can smooth and blend them into a more natural curve.
